We shall also have a special appearance by Poet TearDrops, A “Sheng” spokenword poet, musician and a lyricist who will also do a collaboration with Ricky Na Marafiki band, a blend of poetry and Afrojazz.

Aaron Rimbui is a Kenyan pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and producer who also goes by the nickname ‘Krucial’. He is regarded as one of East Africa’s finest pianists and has served as head the Tusker Project Fame band and has two very beautiful albums to his name (Alfajiri and Keys To Life)

Ricky na marafiki presents an eve of Afro jazz featuring The Villagers band, the Villagers is an Afro Fusion Band that blends rich Afro sounds with smooth western overtones. A brand new sound from Africa!

They shall be performing at an Evening of Afro-Jazz the Gentleman’s edition alongside Ricky na Marafiki on the 30th of June at Alliance Française.

Ricky na marafiki will perform tunes from their Tucheze and so simple albums, Our opening act will be Miss Kemunto and her band playing a song called mandazi

An Evening of Afro Jazz Swahili Edition feat. Juma Tutu, May 26 2015 @ Alliance Française

The Afro fusion musician Juma Tutu has constantly been referred to by his fans as ‘The Kenyan Fela Kuti’. His ingenious blend of mijikenda traditional music and Afro jazz is unrivaled.

This prolific musician will be sharing his musical story and journey with you at an evening of Afro Jazz, the Swahili Edition that shall be taking place at the Alliance Française on the 26th of May from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

He shall be hosted by Ricky Nanjero and the Ricky Na Marafiki band who shall also serenade you with beautiful AfroJazz tracks from the album So Simple.

Concert: Ricky na Marafiki – Brass Edition ft. Christine Kamau, Apr. 28 2015 @ Alliance Française

Ricky Na Marafiki would like to invite to An Evening Of Afro Jazz the Brass Edition that shall be taking place on the 28th of April at the Alliance Française from 6 to 9 pm.

This time we shall be featuring Christine Kamau, the jazz trumpeter who began showing signs of musicianship at an early age. Her parents encouraged her by enrolling for music lessons at age 11 to study music theory and classical piano. She followed on with learning the Trumpet at the Kenya Conservatoire of Music under Kagema Gichuhi.

The entrance fee for the show is 500/- and you can reserve your ticket by calling the number 0737797997.

The album So Simple shall also be available for sale at 500/-
