An Evening of Afro-Jazz/End of the Year Party: with Eric Wainaina & Athieno, Dec. 2 2016 @ Alliance Française

On behalf of Ricky Na Marafiki band, I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to An Evening Of Afro Jazz the Legend’s Edition on the 5th of August at the Alliance Francaise from 7:00 pm.
We shall be hosting the legendary Them Mushrooms, they are one of Kenya’s most successful bands in a well-rounded sense. Their thumb-prints are evident in every discipline that constitutes the music business in Kenya.
On stage we shall also have Kwame Rigii, the rising sun, who has been dubbed Cupid’s chanteur. His vibrato is the stuff of legends, and his music a breath of fresh air. He calls his music Urban Folk, a mélange of styles ranging from Rhumba & Afro-soul, to Ethiopian Gurage peppered with Akorino mellismas paying tribute to his heritage.

Join us on the 1st of April as we celebrate all the women in our lives at #AnEveningOfAfroJazz the #DivasEdition featuring the multi-talented actress, musician and intellectual property lawyer, June Gachui. On stage we’ll also have Swiga whose an energetic, sassy and lively performer, whose music is an eclectic blend of different genres with a jazzy feel to it.
To top it all off, we’ll have an electrifying performance from Ricky Nanjero and the Marafiki band.

Join us on the 29th of September for #AnEveningOfAfroJazz the Writers Edition as we celebrate this beautiful musician. We shall also have a special appearance by Poet TearDrops, A “Sheng” spokenword poet, musician and a lyricist who will also do a collaboration with Ricky Na Marafiki band, a blend of poetry and Afrojazz.

Aaron Rimbui is a Kenyan pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and producer who also goes by the nickname ‘Krucial’. He is regarded as one of East Africa’s finest pianists and has served as head the Tusker Project Fame band and has two very beautiful albums to his name (Alfajiri and Keys To Life)
Come watch this talented pianist at #AnEveningOfAfroJazz the #CrucialKeysEdition that will take place on the 28th of July at The Alliance Française from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Ricky na marafiki presents an eve of Afro jazz featuring The Villagers band, the Villagers is an Afro Fusion Band that blends rich Afro sounds with smooth western overtones. A brand new sound from Africa!
They shall be performing at an Evening of Afro-Jazz the Gentleman’s edition alongside Ricky na Marafiki on the 30th of June at Alliance Française.
Ricky na marafiki will perform tunes from their Tucheze and so simple albums, Our opening act will be Miss Kemunto and her band playing a song called mandazi
