About
WANJA WOHORO
Wanja is a soulful Singer/Songwriter from Nairobi, Kenya and Sydney, Australia. She began songwriting from the age of 13; teaching herself the guitar and the piano and practicing accompaniment and composition. Her influences include the mellow sultry sounds of Amy Winehouse, Lianne La Havas, Ella Fitzgerald, Nai Palm and Corinne Bailey-Rae alongside an extensive exposure to Indie/Folk and jazz music. In 2014 she released her first EP ‘High Tide’ which includes 5 songs of varying genres, all exploring the different sides of her unique musicianship, cultural influences and vocals.

MUMALA MALOBA
Mumala Maloba is Singer, Songwriter from Nairobi Kenya. Having come from a musical background, she started her musical journey very young. Mumala released her first single ‘Where di the love go’ in 2013 then followed with the release of her secong singe ‘Paper Chasing’ ft. rapper Octopizzo produced by Polycarp ‘Fancy Fingers’ Otieno of Sauti Sol. Mumala has perfomed at various events such as The Kinanda Arts Festival, Nairobi Fashion Market, Story Moja Hay Festival, Rift Valley Festival among others. Mumala recently graduated from Middlesex University with a First Class Honors in Law and is definitely one of the female vocalists to look out for in the coming months.

TRIBUTE ‘BIRDIE’ MBOWENI
South Africa’s Tribute ‘Birdie’ Mboweni has joined a new breed of soul musicians that are putting their own modern take on the classic sound and doing it justice. The petite singer has worked diligently to carve a path that ensure that she too has a place in the music industry. Besides her album titled ‘Birdie’ being her debut offering, Tribute has long carved her niche as a performing artist having serenaded audiences in the Middle East (Qatar and Dubai) where she took up artist residencies playing with a jazz band featuring some of South Africa’s great musicians. No stranger to the stage, she has performed at international events such as COP17, the Grahamstown National Arts Festival, where she gave a stellar performance and receiving great reviews for her soulful offering, Her music expressed deep feelings and is profoundly emotional, jazzy, ethno and yet so soulful.
