About
Richard Njogu and Clavers Odhiambo, are showcasing more than 40 artworks, where drawings, paintings and mixed media artworks will basically glorify the color RED, using it as a figurative, thematic and aesthetic component in our artworks. We chose the color Red, due to its range of applications. We will be interpreting various subjects which are enhanced by the color, whether it is a single dot or completely red images.
The red color can be used to imply many emotions, power, heart, love, sexuality, anger, joy, war, etc.… it can also be used to emphasize or be a focal point in an artwork. Also it being a Valentine’s Day month, the exhibition will go hand in hand with the Red theme color.
This exhibition is being curated by Lydia Galavu, Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Museums of Kenya.
