This is a group exhibition by some of Kuona artists with guest artists Peterson Kamwathi, Patrick Mukabi, Peter Walala, Michael Soi and Gor Sudan.
This is a fundraising exhibition held in collaboration with the Kenya Rotary Club in support of various charities in Kenya.

Festival: Black History Month, Feb. 26-27 2011 @ Paa ya Paa, Ridgeways & Village Mkt

Black History Month established in 1976 – now celebrated nationally and internationally in February – is the fruitful vision of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, founder of the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History. Part of the aim of Black History is to recognize significant contributions to society made by people with African heritage.
Paa Ya Paa Arts Centre celebrates Black History Month with a host of activities and special Black History film showings at different venues. Sponsored by Paa Ya Paa Arts Centre, Friends of Paa Ya Paa and The American Embassy, movie viewings are open to the public.
At Paa Ya Paa, viewers can also enjoy a Walk Thru Black History Photo Exhibit and a Finale Program of music, singing, dancing and drumming

This exhibition underscore over a decade long partnership of exposition between Caroline Monda, a Kenyan designer and Martin Dartey, a Ghanaian painter.
The show reveals the differences and similarities of their individual and cultural backgrounds. As well as a revealing the common threads which runs through this uniquely African experience. The exhibition is a careful collection of the various styles and genres which reflect the rich, accumulative experience of the two creative people. Furthermore, it reveals a new direction and awareness of art especially as objects of collection and means of investment.
Both Carol and Martin live and work in Nairobi, Kenya.
