Media Development in Africa [MEDEVA] in conjunction with the GoDown Arts Centre, continues the search for a TV presenter to take up the fame and command the Kenyan youth to their TV screens.

Concert: Spotlight on Kenyan Music, Jul. 29 2011 @ Alliance


Spotlight on Kenyan Music is back!

Date: July 29, 2011
Venue: Alliance Française gardens
Time : 7pm
Entrance: Free

Theme: Traditional meets contemporary

Spotlight 2011 will draw attention to the lesser known musical traditions of Northern Kenyan communities under the programme ‘Vital Voices and Culture’: Increasing People Participation in Good Governance and Development’ – Arts and Cultural Synergies for the Empowerment of Communities, a programme being implemented by the Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs with funding from the European Union.

July concert will feature artists from Loiyangalani, Isiolo and Marsabit showcasing modern pastoralist music as well as introduce to the younger generation the legendary, John Nzenze, whose ‘twist’ musical style is part of the living memory of Kenyan music.
