On July 26th 2014, come be part of an enthralling music, poetry, and art extravaganza at the Hilton Nairobi’s Amboseli ballroom.
The event dubbed “TOMORROW IS ME” is brought to you courtesy of, the B.O.G.O.F. events in collaboration with the Hilton Nairobi.
The event will run from 3 pm to 7 pm. Charges for the event will be KES. 1,000 at the door, KES. 500 for students (with proof of ID) and KES. 800 for advance tickets’ available on JamboPay.
The host at “TOMORROW IS ME” will be the vivacious radio personality Cindy Ogana.
She will guide you through a line-up that includes the musical talents of the sensual Lele Ngoma, the soulful music of Jarel the artist and the sensational entertaining songs of The Opening Act.
The event will feature performance poets too. Michael Onsando will give a reading form his anthology “Something Quite Unlike Myself”. Tear Drops, one of Nairobi top poets who performs in Sheng, will enthral the audience with his heartfelt and thought provoking recitals and the genteel Veon Ngugi will provoke your thoughts with her prowess and mastery of spoken word.
The visual arts will be deftly represented by Denet, Nduta, Mel Ogana and Siege. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, join us at “TOMORROW IS ME” and witness pictures that bring to mind endless prose and poetry.
This promises to be a treat for the lovers of art and culture, with sensual delights for the eyes and ears. The race which originated from the Hilton Park Lane in London (UK) will be run on the same day with our Hilton partner properties in the UK and the UAE – the Hilton Park Lane and the Hilton Jumeirah respectively.
Theme: Celebrating breast cancer survivors through fashion. The ‘Nairobi Haute Couture’ is a fashion show event that intends to showcase a collection of the latest innovative and out-of-the- box creations by local designers to a bespoke public. The event will also act as a platform for addressing some of the challenges and plight affecting the local fashion industry.
We aim not only to showcase designers collections but also create an atmosphere that would allow designers and people to interact freely while they hunt for great bargains in the exhibitors section. The event will also entail a red carpet session where 16 photographers will be taking photos, publicists, journalists, sponsors and the audience would have an opportunity to interact and express their views on Breast cancer, fashion and the show.
On the 4th August, the B.O.G.O.F. (Being Only Great of Finesse) arts extravaganza returns, to the Hilton Nairobi. The event dubbed Still Cape Able will take place between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Entry charges for the event will be Kshs. 300.
The B.O.G.O.F. will feature a wide array of performers from poets, artists, singers’, rappers, sketch artists and photographers.
The poets scheduled to perform are; Abu Sense, Number Eight, Samo and The Almighty. Cynthia Waliaula, Marie, Charlie Ouda and Lele Band with grace the stage with their musical prowess. Sammy Luvonga, a first time performer, will feature in the nouveau artist segment.
Also featured will be DreamteamVille, an upcoming rap group who will launch a new single. Sketch artistes Siege, Rama, Denet, Melpractie and Nduta will add flair to the event with their visual art. The photographers Rowena and Magic Lens will take pictures for the event which will be displayed on the website www.thebogof.com and on the Facebook page.
About the B.O.G.O.F
There are dozens of events in Nairobi City, amid all the humdrum here is an event with a purpose. The B.O.G.O.F. ™ (Being Only Great of Finesse) is an event that occurs almost every two months and is hosted at the Hilton Hotel Nairobi.
The B.O.G.O.F seeks to revolutionize self using a blend of Music and art. It was founded by Le Cleric in December 2010 and the first event was on the 14th of that month.
Since then there have been seven B.O.G.O.F events with the next been the eight. The overall objective is to create a platform where artists and fans can interact through socially positive content that will empower individuals to be the change they want to see in society. Join us on August 4th 2012 and bare witness to creativity.
The next B.O.G.O.F. ™ (Being Only Great of Finesse) event themed ‘TELL A VISION’ is scheduled for May 5th 2012 at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi from 3pm to 7pm. The Charges for the B.O.G.O.F. event will be 300 Kenya Shillings.
Entertainment will be by a host of talented poets, rappers, live bands, sketch artistes and photographers. Anto Neosoul will emcee for the event
The acts scheduled to perform are; Macharia Maina, Mdeizi, Ka-Hawa and Mbulaa, for the live band segment. Female rapper Xtatic will represent the hip hop element at the event.
The poets to grace the event include: Raya Wambui, and Asali.
Also in attendance will be Sketch artistes, Siege, Nduta, Denet, Melpractise and Ramsey, and photographers, Buyu and Rowena.
