Urban Mirror – Love Zone, Dec 12 2009, around Westlands
Urban Mirror presents the LOVE ZONE – an art event to define existing urban areas with music, visual arts, performance arts.
Over the last 5 years Westlands has become a party district where people from different culture and backgrounds meet and have fun. This is one of the few urban areas in Nairobi where, at night, people gather and walk from place to place in safety. We define this as the LOVE ZONE, a spontaneous Nairobi public space.
Events and art performances will take place in the streets and in the night clubs located in the area. A love Matatu equipped with internal and external monitors will move all the night long around the LOVE ZONE screening visual and audio art.
Saturday 12 December 2009 Jamuri day, 23.30 pm
Westlands, Mpaka Road and Woodvale Groove area
Streets, Clubs and Love Matatu

Party: we love supersonic #8, Nov 20 2009, somewhere in Nairobi
we love supersonic is a series of private parties organised in Nairobi since 2006. It is special, it’s about fun, dancing and hot electronic music you would usually not find in the city’s clubs and bars. Tonight, it’s we love supersonic #8 in an incredible outdoor location “somewhere in Nairobi”, a spectacular sound system and for the first time together, five among Nairobi’s top electronic music djs: ugomatic (nairobi now), jean-marie, drazen (6am), nairobi dhobi (just-a-band) and zelalem (havanatronic)
To celebrate this unique line-up, we are happy to provide directions to this otherwise private, almost secret party to a maximum of 10 Nairobi Now readers. Just text the word ’supersonic’ to 0736815961 and you’ll be sent directions to the party. Hurry up!!

Earthdance Nairobi, Sep 26 – 27 2009 @ Leisure Park, Karen
The Earthdance vision is to unite the whole world through the universal platform of dance and music. Each year like-minded people across the planet, at over 300 Earthdance events in over 60 countries come together in celebration for what is the biggest synchronized party in the world. At 2am on Sunday morning (EAT) all Earthdance events link via the “Prayer for Peace” meditation, a song that is played at all events at exactly the same time, connecting all participants at every Earthdance in solidarity for Peace.
With its introduction to Kenya, Earthdance Nairobi will be bringing you a live video feed to and from the global network of parties – courtesy of Access Kenya. Be a part of the first such feat in our corner of the world.
This year’s theme will be “Blessing the Children” as events around the world focus on causes that support children both locally and internationally. The theme provides a united, global purpose to supplement and subsequently elevate local causes requiring attention.
