About
A bank robbery has been staged but the getaway car fails to pick up the robbers who then commandeer a taxi. In a twist of fate, the taxi is involved in an accident. And in the ensuing confusion, the money is stolen by unknown people.

Working in cahoots with a crooked cop (played by Janet Kirina), the thugs suspect a taxi driver (played by Nick Ndeda) stole their loot and pursue him only to get sucked into his mysterious life involving two complicated neighbours (played Maina Olwenya and Xavier Nato) and his two very uniquely different wives (played by Nice Githinji and Hellena Waithera).

In the spiraling chaos of deceit, false identity and manic cover-up that ensues, an overzealous police constable (Umi Rajab) fresh from Kiganjo on her first assignment jumps into the frying pan bringing hilarity to new levels.

This is a high voltage roller coaster of fun from start to finish. You cannot miss this fast paced comedy performed by Kenya’s highly experienced superstar cast directed by Veronica Waceke and Mbeki Mwalimu. The show is stage managed by Mwajuma Belle and produced by Abuto Eliud

Tickets on sale at Alliance Francaise reception, Asanand Music Shop on Moi avenue, 8to8 Mall next to Jazz Bar.

Comedy: How Dearly I Hate You! by Heartstrings Entertainment, Sept. 9-14 2014 @ Alliance Française Auditorium

How dearly I hate you
Synopsis
It shows Kenyans that the only way to hate people is by way of hypocritically showing them love. That lack of salt doesn’t mean the presence of sweetness.

Play/Comedy: Kenyan Hustlers and Gatherers, Jun. 17-29 2014 @ Alliance Française Auditorium

Kenyan Hustlers and Gatherers, a Heartstrings Entertainment production

Dates: June 17 – 29, 2014
Venue: Alliance Française Auditorium
Time: Weekdays 6.30 pm, Weekends 3.00 & 6.30 pm
Tickets: 500/-

Heartstrings Entertainment is back with the big question, are you a hustler or a gatherer? We are not sure who a hustler is anymore. This madly original comedy will make it clear to all of us just who exactly we all are. That half of Kenyans are hustlers and the other half are gatherers. A hustler simply is the handworker who does all the work. A gatherer on the other hand is the one who fraudulently eats the fruits of that work.

The show will hilariously show how the hustlers have decided to leave the gatherers alone by exiting this country in masses to go live in other countries. This is because their fruits of hard work are being eaten by the gatherers. i.e. thieves, robbers, corrupt, liars, philanderers, fornicators, tribalists,

News: House of Lungula to be available on BUNI.TV on pay-per-view from May 4 2014

House of Lungula
HOUSE OF LUNGULA, will be exclusively available at www.buni.tv/lungula from May 4, 2014.

HOUSE OF LUNGULA caused a stir when it was released in cinemas last February to packed audiences in Nairobi and Mombasa. The local blockbuster, which stars Ian Mbugua, Lizz Njagah, Gerald Langiri and Sarah Hassan and is directed by Alexandros Konstantaras, is a sexy, laugh-out-loud comedy in the vein of big Hollywood hits like THE HANGOVER or AMERICAN PIE – and a first of its kind in Kenya.

But the limited theater run and great word-of-mouth left a lot more Kenyans – especially in the diaspora – eager to see the movie. From May 4, viewers worldwide will finally be able to satisfy their curiosity!

With HOUSE OF LUNGULA, Buni.tv will be piloting a pay-per-view option for new movie releases, in addition to its usual subscription model. For 150ksh ($3.99 for the diaspora), users will be able to rent the film and watch it at their convenience during a 3-day period, and without having to subscribe to Buni.tv’s monthly premium service Buni+. After the initial exclusive release period of a couple weeks, the film will become available to Buni+ subscribers at no extra cost to them.

“We have been overwhelmed by the amount of people outside Kenya requesting to watch HOUSE OF LUNGULA,” said director Alex Konstantaras. “Buni.tv created the avenue that we were looking for in order to reach those people around the world.”

This inspirational but ridiculous story takes place in the home of a factory owner who is rolling in money and wants to give some of it (Ksh 10,000,000) to the son of his former business associate. The only stipulation is that the young man must be his father’s sole heir.

Unsure of the son’s whereabouts, he places an advertisement in a number of local newspapers. Almost immediately, an heir appears accompanied by a crafty fellow.
Soon after, others pop out from all corners to join in claiming the prize money and even his beautiful daughter! A series of mistaken identities ensue resulting in an unexpected twists and turns finally erupting into chaos.

Dangerous Affairs is a fast moving and rip-roaring farce highly recommended.

It brings together Nairobi’s finest artistes including stars of local and continental movies and TV series Robert Agengo, Juma Williams, Brenda Wairimu, Veronica Waceke, Nice Githinji, Rosemary Waweru, Janet Kirina, Mwaura Nganga, movie stars Justin Mirichii and Wangari Gioche. The stage manger is Nina Mwiti.

This comedy is directed by Mbeki Mwalimu and Veronica Waceke and produced by Abuto Eliud
