There was a tremendous response from the Nairobi Music Society Christmas concert audience on hearing Zachariah Kariithi’s glorious voice. Zak has been part of the Adler-Buchmann International Program for Outstanding Foreign Students since 2008 and has won many prizes since then, also appearing as soloist with professional orchestras.
The Nairobi Music Society are delighted to announce that he will be giving a recital at Kenton College at 3.00 pm on Sunday, 13th January, with pianist Paul Nduati. It is a wonderfully varied and unusual programme, with items from the classic lieder repertoire such as Schumann’s Dichterliebe, as well as songs by Schubert and Brahms and arias from operas by Mozart, Verdi and Stravinsky. Much more rarely heard are songs from Ravel’s Don Quixotte and two works modern composers.
Not to be missed especially as he will be leaving Kenya again soon, to continue his singing studies in Europe.
