Moreen Achieng Otiu is fondly known as Lady Moreen – Queen of Ohangla. Moreen is the only Lady performing traditional Luo music, and has made a name for herself by taking the popular Ohangla rhythm to new heights. She instantly became famous in Western Kenya and even made waves with audiences which don’t understand Dholuo.
After joining Nyamolo Traditional Dancers in Kisumu as a singer, she formed her own band Nyarng’ato Traditional Dancers in 2006. She scooped the Best Artist Award at the Carnivore Luo Night 2007, and her two albums Wang’ni Wabiro (This time we are coming), and Ji Gombo Neni (Many would like to see you) are bestsellers. Lady Moreen follows invitations to perform all over the country.

Proceeds from her concerts are used to support girl child education in Migori District.
